Hi,
I’m using Dynmap on a Minecraft 1.21.8 Fabric server with this version:
https://modrinth.com/plugin/dynmap/version/3.7-beta-11
First of all, thank you for the work on Dynmap — it actually works really well for me on my SMP server, and it is extremely useful.
The main issue I’ve noticed is that mushroom blocks / giant mushrooms render incorrectly and inconsistently on the map. Sometimes they render one way, and sometimes another, even in the same area. This makes the mushroom forest look very chaotic and visually wrong.
Most of the time, I reproduced/tested this using /dynmap radiusrender 1700 surface and /dynmap radiusrender 1700 surface_opposite (surface_opposite is a custom view for my world).
I attached screenshots showing the problem.
What I also noticed:
- the mushrooms look different between surface and surface_opposite
- in this case I only changed the camera angle by 180 degrees to check how it looks from the other side
- the mushroom block rendering seems inconsistent depending on the view/direction
So the problem is not that the biome itself is broken — it seems more like the mushroom blocks are being interpreted/rendered differently depending on perspective or map face.
Could this be fixed?
Also, is there any chance of a non-beta / full release of Dynmap for 1.21.8 Fabric in the future? I really need it for an SMP server, because Dynmap is incredibly useful, but the mushroom rendering is currently very confusing.
I found older mushroom-related issues (#3253, #2300), but this seems to still happen on Fabric 1.21.8 with 3.7-beta-11, especially with inconsistent rendering between surface and surface_opposite
Thanks again for maintaining the project.
